Who We Are
Who We Are
Refinery Church is a family of believers helping people find Christ and become fully devoted followers of Jesus.
We are one church expressed through multiple congregations, languages, and communities. Together, we are committed to seeing broken lives restored, people deeply discipled, families strengthened, and communities transformed through the power of the Gospel.
We believe church is more than a place you attend. It is a spiritual family where you can encounter Jesus, grow in God’s Word, experience the power of the Holy Spirit, build meaningful relationships, and discover how God has called you to serve.
Come as you are. Find a family. Grow in faith. Become who God is forming you to be.

What We Believe
At Refinery Church, the Bible is the foundation for everything we believe and practice. Our beliefs are not merely ideas to affirm; they shape how we worship, how we live, how we love others, and how we participate in God’s mission.
Refinery Church is part of the Assemblies of God. We embrace its historic Statement of Fundamental Truths and its commitment to a full-Gospel, Spirit-empowered faith.
We believe:
Jesus saves.
Jesus heals.
Jesus baptizes in the Holy Spirit.
Jesus is coming again.
These beliefs lead us to be a people who are rooted in the Word, dependent upon the Holy Spirit, committed to making disciples, and yearning for revival and Christ’s return.
We believe in one true God, eternally existing as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—three distinct Persons, yet one God. He is the Creator of all things, perfect in holiness, unlimited in power, and rich in love and mercy.
Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14
We believe every person is created in the image of God and possesses God-given dignity and value.
Humanity was created for relationship with God, but sin has separated us from Him. We cannot rescue or restore ourselves through morality, religion, or good works. We need the grace of God made available through Jesus Christ.
Genesis 1:26–27; Romans 3:23; Romans 5:12; Romans 6:23
We all were created to exist forever. We will either exist eternally separated from God by sin, or in union with God through forgiveness and salvation. The place of eternal separation from God is called Hell. Heaven is the place of eternal union and eternal life with God.
We believe Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, fully God and fully man. Born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, performed miracles, died on the cross for our sins, rose bodily from the dead, ascended into heaven, and now reigns at the right hand of the Father.
Jesus is the only Savior and the only way to reconciliation with God.
We believe that Jesus will personally and visibly return. His return is the blessed hope of the church and calls us to live with readiness, holiness, urgency and faithfulness. We do not live in fear of the future, we live with the confidence that Jesus Is Lord and that He will make all things new.
John 1:1-14; Matthew 1:23; Acts 2:22-24; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4; John 14:1-6 Titus 2:11-13, Revelation 22:12
We believe the Church is the family of God and the body of Christ. We believe every follower of Jesus has been gifted and called to participate in ministry.
Every person who has placed faith in Jesus is part of His Church. Together, we worship God, grow in His Word, care for one another, practice spiritual gifts, make disciples, serve our communities, and share the Gospel with the world. God pours out His Spirit upon sons and daughters, young and old, and calls both women and men to serve and lead according to the gifting and direction of the Holy Spirit.
Church is more than a service we attend. It is a spiritual family in which we belong, grow, serve, and participate in God’s mission. Pastors and ministry leaders are called to equip God's people so that the whole church would participate in the work of ministry.
Matthew 28:18–20; Acts 2:42–47; 1 Corinthians 12:12–27; Ephesians 4:11–16 Joel 2:28–29; Acts 2:17–18; Romans 12:4–8; Ephesians 4:11–12; 1 Peter 4:10
We believe the Church exists to worship God, make disciples, care for people, and proclaim the Gospel in the power of the Holy Spirit.
We are called to serve our neighbors, defend the vulnerable, meet practical needs, demonstrate compassion, and carry the message of Jesus to our communities and the nations.
Matthew 22:37–40; Matthew 28:18–20; Acts 1:8; Isaiah 58:6–12; James 1:27
We believe Jesus meets us as we are, but He loves us too much to leave us unchanged.
Through the work of the Holy Spirit, believers are continually transformed into the character of Christ. We are called to turn away from sin, pursue holiness, love God, love our neighbors, and live in obedience to God’s Word.
Spiritual growth is a lifelong journey of surrender, formation, and faithful obedience.
Romans 12:1–2; 2 Corinthians 3:18; Galatians 5:16–25; 1 Peter 1:15–16
We believe salvation is God’s gift, received through repentance and faith in Jesus Christ.Jesus took our place on the cross and paid the penalty for our sins. When we turn from sin and place our trust in Him, we are forgiven, made new, adopted into God’s family, and given the hope of eternal life.
Salvation is entirely by grace. It cannot be earned.
John 3:16–17; Romans 10:9–13; Ephesians 2:8–9; Titus 3:4–7
We practice water baptism and Communion as sacred acts given by Jesus to His Church.
We believe every person who has placed faith in Jesus should be baptized in water by immersion. Baptism does not produce salvation, but it is an act of obedience and a public declaration that we have died to our old life and have been raised to live a new life in Christ.
We regularly receive Communion, also called the Lord’s Supper, in remembrance of Jesus’ sacrificial death. The bread and cup remind us of Christ’s body and blood, proclaim the Gospel, and point us toward the day when Jesus will return.
Matthew 28:19; Acts 2:38; Romans 6:3–4; Luke 22:14–20; 1 Corinthians 11:23–26
We believe the Holy Spirit is fully God and is actively at work in the world today. The Holy Spirit draws people to Jesus, lives within every believer, produces spiritual fruit, guides us into truth, and empowers us to live holy and effective Christian lives.
John 14:16–17; John 16:7–15; Romans 8:9–16; Galatians 5:22–25
We believe the supernatural gifts of the Holy Spirit described in the New Testament remain available to the Church today.
These gifts are given by the Holy Spirit to strengthen the Church, encourage believers, serve others, and demonstrate the power and presence of God. They must be practiced biblically, lovingly, and in a way that honors Jesus.
Romans 12:4–8; 1 Corinthians 12:4–11; 1 Corinthians 14:1; 1 Peter 4:10–11
We believe God still heals.
Healing is provided through the saving work of Jesus and is an important part of the Gospel. We pray for the sick, trust God’s power, receive appropriate medical care, and continue believing in God’s goodness even when healing does not happen in the timing or manner we desire.
Isaiah 53:4–5; Matthew 8:16–17; James 5:14–16; Acts 10:38
We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God. It is trustworthy, authoritative, and sufficient for teaching us what to believe and how to live.
Scripture—not culture, tradition, personal preference, or politics—has the final authority in our lives.
2 Timothy 3:16–17; Psalm 119:105; 2 Peter 1:20–21
We believe every person will be raised and will stand before God.
Those who have received salvation through Jesus will experience eternal life in God’s presence. Those who reject Him will experience eternal separation from God.
We believe in the final defeat of sin, death, and Satan and in the promise of a new heaven and a new earth where God will dwell with His redeemed people forever.
Matthew 25:31–46; John 5:28–29; Revelation 20:11–15; Revelation 21:1–5
